Hazrat Syed Shah Hussain Muhammad Akbar Khair Bandanawazi Rh
( 1900-1966)
Hazrat Syed Shah Hussain Muhammad Akbar Khair Bandanawazi was among the last of the Jagirdars in the Country before Jagirdari came to an end. He managed the affairs of the entire Estate of 16 Jagirs with the help of Estate managers ( Munshi's) which were appointed for the purpose. Hazrat Syed Shah Hussain was poetically inclined and wrote in Urdu, composing Encomiums ( Naath) in praise of the Prophet (saws) and about the family of the Prophet called the 'Ahl al baith'.
He passed away on the 29th of the month of Zilhajj in the year 1966 and his mazaar is situated with in the Dargah premises.
Hazrat Syed Shah Muhammad Muhammad Al Hussaini Rh
(1922 -2007)
Janab Syed Shah Muhammad Al Hussaini was a visionary leader and spiritual head of India’s second-largest Dargah, after Ajmer’s Khaja Gharibnawaz. He balanced his responsibilities of managing the Dargah and organizing grand annual events like the Urs of Khaja Banda Nawaz, which attract lakhs of pilgrims to Gulbarga, with support from the District Administration and Police. Alongside these large-scale events, he also oversaw smaller Urs celebrations and key religious occasions such as Milad un Nabi.
In 1958, inspired by the lack of educational development in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region, he established an education society to uplift the Muslim minority, earning him the title "Sir Syed of the Deccan." After linguistic state reorganizations in 1956, cities like Gulbarga, Bidar, and Bijapur faced neglect due to their border location and distance from Karnataka's capital, Bangalore. His efforts helped address the region’s educational challenges and improve the quality of life for its people.


Hazrat Syed Shah Gesudaraz
Khusro Hussaini Rh
( 1945 – 2024)
Born on September 10, 1945, he hails from a prestigious lineage, being the son of Padmashri Syed Shah Muhammad Al Hussaini, renowned Chishti Sufi, and a descendant of Hazrath Khaja Bandanawaz. His maternal roots tie him to the Hyderabad nobility. A blend of Sufism and aristocracy, he was a dedicated educationist, agriculturist, and a scholar committed to social service and spiritual leadership.
He had held key roles, including Member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Founder President of the All India Sufi Conference. His contributions towads field of education, spirituality, and interfaith harmony had earned him numerous awards, including the "Best Citizens of India Award" 2016, Rajyotsava Award in 2017 for his services in promoting peace education and national integrity.
Hafiz Syed Muhammad Ali Al Hussaini
Janab Syed Muhammad Ali Al Hussaini Sahab is the present Sajjadah Nasheen of the Dargah Hazrat Khaja Bandanawaz Gisudaraz Rh, the President of the Khaja Education Society and H.E the Chancellor of the Khaja Bandanawaz University.
The 24th descendant of the Saint is a people’s person and the Sajjadah Sahab deeply believes in his commitment to service towards humanity. With a great deal of exposure due to his Travels abroad, Janab Ali Al Hussaini is aptly suited and destined to take up the responsibilities of being the Custodian of the large and most venerated Dargah as well as the Head and Administrator of the University and other Institutions under the Education Society.
Janab Ali al Hussaini Sahab has varied interests and is multi-Talented. He is a keen sportsman andexcels in Cricket, being instrumental in promoting this Game in the in the region to the State level. His Team won the Maharaja Trophy in Bangalore and since then the Game is a looked forward event in the City.
Apart from Sports, Music and Software development are of deep interest to him.
He has excelled in creating Architectural Spaces and the University Buildings are standing ovations for his Architectural Designing Skills.
He has been appointed as the Chairman of the Karnataka State Waqf Board for the year 2025. This prestigious appointment is a reflection of his exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and vision for community empowerment.
