 About Saint Hazrat Syed Muhammad Gesudaraz

Syed Muhammad Gesudaraz moved out of Delhi with countless other learned and spiritual personages before the imminent invasion of Timur in the year 1398. Travelling southwards, this venerated and renowned Chishti Saint arrived in Daulatabad, a City situated about 15 km from Aurangabad. Hearing of the arrival of Bandanawaz in the neighbouring City, the Bahmani Sultan Firoze Shah arrived in Daulatabad and extended a warm invitation to the Saint to make Gulbarga his home. Thus a spiritual and learned Chapter began in the history of the Deccan with its centre at Gulbarga.​

About Khaja Bandanawaz Dargah

The Dargah Hazrat Khaja Bandanawaz Gesudaraz Rh is the resting place of the 13th Century Sufi Saint of the Chishtiya silsila. The Dome and the original structure of the Dargah was built in the 15th Century by the Bahmani King Sultan Ahmed Shah Wali after the death of the Saint. It stands in its original Glory to this day and has been carefully maintained by the Custodians of the Dargah through the generations.

This Shrine is perhaps one of the few Waqf properties in the Country that has been carefully maintained and preserved with expansion and development work constantly in progress to accommodate the demands of the growing number of visitors who throng the place and whose strength increases every year.​

What is Unique in this Dargah :

The Dargah Bandanawaz is the only Place in the Country which has a sprawling structure where in other smaller structures exist which are the Dargahs of relatives and offsprings of the Saint’s Family. The entire Complex is rigorously maintained and attended to. The Dargah has the honour of being the only spiritual Institution that has nurtured Education and promoted it in a practical manner, setting up Institutions for Girls and Boys from kindergarten to the highest level, Professional Colleges, Hospital, Laboratories, and Nursing Colleges.
